# Channex

## What is Channex?
Channex is a white-label channel manager API for teams that build the software a property runs on — commercial Property Management System (PMS) vendors, and hotel groups building their own in-house PMS. It provides OTA connectivity without having to build or maintain the integrations.

Channex operates as a pure B2B wholesale solution — it does not sell directly to hotels. Partners integrate once via the Channex API; PMS vendors resell the connectivity under their own brand, and in-house teams use it inside their own system.

Channex is wholesale-only: it sells through software, never direct to hotels, so it

## Origin
Channex was founded in January 2020 by a hotelier who had built his own property
management system in 2015 and sold it in December 2019. The pain point that
started Channex was the channel managers that PMS had to integrate with: they
were expensive, had no modern API, and were inflexible. Channex exists to be the
opposite — a modern REST API, per-property pricing, and wholesale-only so it
never competes with its partners.

- Hotels: $7.00 per property. Volume discounts:
  - 500+ hotels: $6.00
  - 1,000+ hotels: $5.00
  - 2,000+ hotels: $4.00
- Vacation Rentals: $0.50 per unit. Volume discounts:
  - 2,000+ units: $0.45
  - 4,000+ units: $0.40
  - 7,000+ units: $0.30

#### Chat & Reviews (optional add-on)
- Hotels: $7.00 per property per month
- Vacation Rentals: $0.50 per unit per month

#### Billing Notes
- Only properties with at least one active channel connection are billed.
- The $130/month platform fee applies in addition to per-property charges.
- All prices are excluding VAT.
- Billed monthly, no fixed term or minimum contract. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice. No setup fees.

### Frequently Asked Questions

#### Is there a free trial or sandbox environment?

Yes. The staging server is free — sign up at staging.channex.io and start building straight away, no sales call and no card required. You get the full API to test against, map channels, and validate your integration before anything goes live or is billed.

#### Are there minimums, commissions or hidden fees?

No. There's no minimum number of properties, no certification fee, no commission on bookings, and no hidden charges. You pay the platform fee plus the per-property fee for properties with an active channel — that's the whole bill.

#### How and when am I billed?

Your first month is pro-rated from your start date. After that, on the 1st of each month we automatically charge the platform fee plus the per-property fees for that month in advance, and email you the invoice.

#### What counts as an "active" property?

A property counts as live once it has at least one active channel connection. Properties that are set up but have no active connection are not billed. Because each month is charged in advance on the 1st, adding or removing a property mid-cycle doesn't change that month's invoice — there's no pro rata or credit either way, and the change is reflected on the next one.

#### What does the $130/month platform fee cover?

The platform fee covers your API access, the Channex dashboard, the Mapping API, unlimited user seats, standard tech support, and onboarding assistance. Per-property charges are billed on top of this fee based on the number of active connected properties.

#### Are there volume discounts for large deployments?

Yes. Hotel rates reduce from $7.00 to as low as $4.00 per property at scale, and vacation rental unit rates reduce from $0.50 to as low as $0.30 per unit. Use the pricing calculator to see the exact rate that applies to your portfolio size.

#### What contract length is required?

There's no fixed term or minimum contract — Channex is billed monthly and you can cancel any time, with 30 days' notice. Scaling the number of connected properties up or down needs no notice at all.

#### Is there a setup or onboarding fee?

No. There are no setup fees. Onboarding and technical support are included in the platform fee.

#### Can I white-label the Channex interface for my customers?

Yes — the WhiteLabel plan is specifically designed for PMS providers and booking engines who want to offer channel management under their own brand. The interface, API responses, and documentation can all be white-labelled.

### Step 1 — Get Access

- Generate an API key to authenticate requests

### Step 2 — Create Property, Rooms, and Rates
- Create a property via API (hotel or vacation rental)
- Define room types (e.g. Single Room, Suite)
- Set up rate plans (e.g. Standard Rate, Non-Refundable)

### Step 3 — Send Availability, Prices, and Restrictions
- Send available room counts per date via API
- Send daily rates and restrictions (minimum stay, closed dates) via separate API call

### Step 4 — Receive Bookings
Two options (both recommended together):
- **Pull method**: Poll the Booking Revisions Feed API for all properties in one call every 15–20 minutes. Acknowledge each booking after saving.
- **Push method (webhooks)**: Channex sends a webhook on new bookings. Pull the booking by ID, save it, and acknowledge. Must use HTTPS and return 200 OK.
